January 6-13, 2007 Crossfire took a group to Nicaragua.
This was another exciting opportunity to reach out in many different ways. We took a basketball and softball team, doctors, nurses, musicians and lay leaders.
We just took a group there in March of 2006 and saw many Professions of Faith while encouraging the local pastors. On this return trip we saw another 678 people express faith in Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Terry Dupont who serves as a local missionary in Nicaragua and the surrounding areas arranged the events for us. Terry was committed to making sure that there was plenty of ministry for everyone. There were 8 softball games, 4 basketball games, one basketeball clinic, a four day leadership conference, two medical clinics, spoke in 8 churches and many one on one opportunities to share.
We would like to thank each of the individuals that took the trip with us back to Central America.
Mike Crawford and Kevin Perryman who taught the John Maxwell Leadership series for ministers. They were very effective as over 120 men and women attended the four day conference.
Their sons Brady Crawford and Luke Perryman, they were faithful in assisting everyone with different areas of outreach. As adults watching the younger boys minister we found ourselves encouraged by their selfless acts throughout the trip. We pray that many more kids and teens will make future trips with Crossfire.
Dr. Tom Terrell and Mary Blevins along with special assistant Dianne Green held two medical clinics and ministered through medicine to over 150 people. A large assignment when considering the limitations within the culture. They were also helpful during the week long trip in keeping the team healthy.
Dan and Shan Rose, they have traveled with us before to the Philippines in 2006. Without question, they might be the most servant minded of all people. They were very effective in getting all of the kids together at all ministry stops while in Metagalpa, Nicaragua.
We were blessed to have some of our athletes join us in our mission efforts through sports. Each of Crossfire's men would tell you that the outreach was most impressive. We saw God do great things as we developed friendships with the Nicaraguan athletes we played each day. They were at all of our games whether they were playing or not and were quick to cheer for us as we played their own teams.
We want to thank each of our men for their efforts. Our athletes were ...
Jim Coddington, Mark Raymer, Phil Cole, Richard Cope, Larry Robertson, Gene Fox, Tim James, Scott Honeycutt, Darren Ponder, Bob Mitchell, Ron Thornburg and Tal Groce. We also were blessed to have Ray Croyle our Coach for the softball team who did a little of everything.
We look forward to another great trip in the future to Central America.

Crossfire will be returning to the Philippines using their basketball team to play the All Star teams. We will be joining a local pastor named Ador who organized our trip two years ago. He did a fantastic job of moving the team through a few cities while ministering in churches. We also provided two baskeball clinics for children in between the games.
